When English Preserves the Ponorogo’s Cultures is an English textbook intended for the seventh graders of junior high schools. This book incorporates English teaching materials and Ponorogo’s local culture. It also aims at providing English teaching materials that are fully loaded with the local culture of Ponorogo. Students will be motivated to study English because they can find many familiar things which have become parts of their daily life. When English Preserves the Ponorogo’s Cultures also covers the four English skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Besides, it provides three other sections: vocabulary and pronunciation, and grammar to enrich students’ vocabulary, improve their pronunciation, as well as strengthen their mastery of sentence structures. Another section is cultural awareness, which covers some of the culture coming from Ponorogo, East Java, Indonesia. Thus, students will not only be able to master spoken and written English well but also learn their own culture and history at the same time. This student’s book is equipped with a separate teacher’s book. The available teacher’s book can be used as a guide and enable teachers to use all parts of the book optimally.
